Juan Molina Hernandez exhibition

The  para no desaparecer (not to disappear)  exhibit by аÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±½á¹û's Jan Feldman Artist-in-Residence Juan Molina Hernández employs diverse techniques, materials, and mediums drawn directly from the artist's upbringing. 

Join us for the opening reception on Thursday, August 29 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Sonnenschein/Albright Gallery at the Durand Art Institute. The artist will host an exhibition walkthrough on Sunday, September 8 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Learn about the work, ideas, and process of constructing the exhibit. The exhibition is open through Wednesday, September 25 on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Hear from Dr. Sachin Patel, MD/PhD

Sachin patelListen to the seminar "Why Your Brain Makes Its Own Cannabis and How It Might Protect You Against Stress" as part of the Seminars in Neuroscience. Speaking will be Dr. Sachin Patel, MD/PhD, Lizzie Gilman Professor and Chair of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine.

The seminar will take place on Thursday, September 12 from 4:15 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. in Lillard 044.

     

Preserve your photographs and stories

Durand art instituteWho gets remembered and who gets forgotten? In this workshop, participants will learn the basics about caring for their physical and digital photographs to keep them safe for years to come. Participants will also learn about different methods in which people are preserving the stories of their families and communities through poetry, music, and visual art. Participants are encouraged to bring a photograph and a journal to write in.

This event will take place on Saturday, September 21 from noon to 2 p.m. at the Sonnenschein/Albright Gallery in the Durand Art Institute.

    

Attend the Rosemary Hale Lecture

Chyhe BeckerJoin us for the second annual Rosemary Hale Lecture with Chyhe Becker, Deputy Director and Deputy Chief Economist of the Division of Economic and Risk Analysis at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

The lecture will take place on Tuesday, September 24 from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. in the Tarble Room in Brown Hall.
