What made you decide to become a History major at 新澳门六合彩开奖结果?

I took history courses my first year and was very engaged with the way that courses focused on one area of history, but each week we got to explore a different topic within that area. It was also easy to choose classes within the major because I could choose the courses based on the topics I found the most interesting. I quickly realized that my writing skills that I developed in my history courses was helping me in other courses and at my job.

What was your favorite part of being a History major at LFC?

My favorite part of being a history major was being able to research and write about topics that I was interested in. We had to write papers within a certain prompt, but I really enjoyed having some room for my own interests in my studies.

What鈥檚 something you think students considering majoring in History should know?

Any student considering studying history should know that every history major studies something slightly different. Even in the American history track, each person studied a different time period or had a different area of interest.

Why is history important and/or relevant to the world today?

Every piece of modern life stems from and is shaped by important events and people in history. Understanding and applying history is more important now than ever because we have greater access to archives and research than any generation before us.

In what ways did being a history major help you after graduation?

Being a history major helped me immediately in my job search because I developed skills that are important to any position. The major gave me the opportunity to develop my writing, research, and communications skills that have been important for my job and will be important in any field I go into.
